Halima Cassell was born in Kashmir and grew up in Manchester. She works in wood and stone as well as clay and draws inspiration from the architectural and geometric shapes she sees around her home city and on her travels.

Central to the exhibition is an installation of clay sculptures entitled Virtues of Unity. Each sculpture represents one of the 195 countries in the world today, for Halima this will be a lifelong project and there is a long way to go.

The exhibition runs until January 2020. If you are in the Manchester area I urge you support Halima visit this extremely impressive exhibition.
